Derrick and Stephanie Hicks, picture here with their three children, Pastor Love In Action Church of Houston, Texas. The revelation of God’s love through Jesus Christ is the main focus of the ministry. Pastor’s Derrick and Stephanie ministers so that revelation of God’s love with a passion and excitement that makes Love In Action Church the place to be.
Pastor Derrick was saved on April 9th 1982 and filled with the Holy Spirit in September of 1983 while attending Tuskegee Institute and studying electrical engineering. After the receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit, Brother Hicks began to experience the manifestation of the Holy Spirit in tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy, and word of knowledge.
Pastor Stephanie was saved in 1981 also at Tuskegee Institute. Derrick and Stephanie met their freshman year and were engaged their senior year. The couple both finished with engineering degrees and was led of the Lord to move to Houston, Texas where they would work for a NASA contractor while attending Lakewood Church.
Pastor Hicks was trained under the Late Pastor John Osteen for 14 years at Lakewood Church, where he was faithful in street evangelism, children’s ministry, drama ministry, and altar prayer ministry. Pastor Hicks was ordained in 1995 and assisted Pastor John Osteen by performing weddings, funerals and teaching in Family Life Institute, a Bible school for laymen.
At the direction of the Lord, Derrick Hicks started Love In Action Church in October of 1999. Since entering the ministry Pastor Hicks has witnessed the miraculous power of the name of Jesus and the Holy Spirit in physical healings, provision and deliverance, and expects to see many more and greater miracles in ministry for years to come until our Lord Jesus Christ returns.
